Conversions: Limited by guarantee to CIC

Company limited by guarantee to Community Interest Company (c.i.c.)

An existing company can be converted to a Community Interest Company if it:

  • passes special resolutions to do so and to make the other necessary changes
  • adopts new articles of association which comply with the requirements for a c.i.c., including objects that are for community benefit and the asset lock
  • changes its name so that it ends in 'Community Interest Company' or 'c.i.c'.)
  • submits all the above with a completed form CIC37
  • pays £25 registration fee
  • is acceptable to the CIC Regulator
