What is a listed company?

A listed company is one listed on the London Stock Exchange. Such a company must be a public company (PLC) and must have been accepted by the Financial Services Authority for listing.

Smaller public companies may have their shares on the Alternative Investment Market maintained by the Stock Exchange.
